Santa cruised through the Stanley Park area on Saturday, December 19, 2020. It was a "Covid" period and the usual Santa Claus Parade had been cancelled.

Our Optimist Club, in conjunction with the Stanley Park Community Association, was pleased to be able to bring Santa to the Stanley Park area. Club President Mark Kerr and Vice-President Carole Kerr filled star roles as "Santa and Mrs. Claus Came to Town". They rode in a horse-drawn carriage around the streets of Stanley Park wishing residents a "Merry Christmas".
The Santa tour was so well received that it became a local annual event as it was repeated on Dec. 18/ 2021, Dec. 17/2022, Dec. 16/2023, Dec. 21/2024, and Dec. 20/2025. Each year's route is different and not generally made public in advance so checking the Stanley Park Community Association's website and monitoring the carriage's progress is advisable..
For children wishing to meet Santa, an annual pancake breakfast also became a very popular event. Generally held at the Stanley Park Community Centre the Saturday before the tour, the breakfast celebration required reservations and was sold out weeks ahead of time. So, those wishing to attend future breakfasts need to book as soon as registration opens, usually in November.
